Fabulous portrait of a young woman with bonnet, described on the verso in handwriting as Mrs CL Douglas, the wide of CL Douglas. We could not determine the rest of the text. Based on the dress style and pose this portrait would date to the late Georgian period of the early 19th Century through to the first years of the reign of Victoria circa 1830.

Unframed: 31.5 cm x 24 cm approximately. Framed 40 cm x 35 cm approximately.

Condition Report

On close up observation we can note very mild and minor foxing to the paper towards to the top rail. The water colours remain fresh and the drawing lines sharp. The frame is solid and the glass has a handmade period feel. Overall good. Ready to hang.
